Team Wendy Helmet Counterweight: Balance 1.5 lbs of Gear and Prevent Neck Injury on All Team Wendy Helmets

  • The Team Wendy EXFIL / EPIC Counterweight Kit is a Berry Compliant stabilization system designed for operators using heavy night vision or front-mounted thermal optics. This field-proven kit shifts the center of gravity to the rear of the helmet, ensuring your head stays level and your optics remain perfectly aligned during high-intensity movement.
  • Prevent Chronic Neck Injury on 10+ Hour Missions: Carrying heavy gear on the front of your head puts massive strain on your spine. This kit balances that load, preventing the long-term neck pain and muscle exhaustion that usually happens during extended night operations.
  • Stabilize Up to 1.5 lbs of Front-Mounted Gear: This system lets you add physical weight to the back of your helmet to balance heavy night vision goggles. By shifting the weight, you stop your helmet from tilting forward into your eyes, keeping your gear steady and your vision clear.
  • One System Fits All EXFIL, EPIC, and SAR Helmets: You don't need to guess which kit to buy. This universal design uses a "plug-and-play" attachment that works perfectly with any Team Wendy professional helmet, including Ballistic, Carbon, and Search and Rescue models.
  • Military-Grade Grip That Won't Rip or Shake: This kit is tested to meet strict U.S. Army and Marine Corps (ACH/ECH) pull standards. It stays locked to your helmet during fast-roping, jumping, or running, so you never have to worry about your counterweights falling off in the middle of a mission.

Team Wendy Counterweight Review

Team Wendy Counterweight Features & Specifications

The Team Wendy EXFIL / EPIC Counterweight Kit is a mission-essential accessory designed to solve the dangerous "front-heavy" problem common with night vision and thermal optics. By shifting the helmet's center of gravity to the rear, this Berry Compliant system prevents the helmet from dipping into the operator's field of view and eliminates the chronic neck strain that leads to long-term injury. Unlike generic alternatives, this kit is independently tested to meet military pull-strength standards, ensuring your balance weights stay locked to the shell during high-speed vehicle transitions or fast-rope operations.

Key Features

TW Counterweight FAQs

What is a helmet counterweight and why would I need it?

A helmet counterweight is a small pouch filled with weights that you stick to the back of your helmet. You need it because gear like night vision goggles makes the front of your helmet very heavy. This "pull" can make your helmet slide down over your eyes and hurt your neck. The counterweight pulls the back down to keep everything level and comfortable.

What is the role of the counterweight on night vision systems?

When you wear night vision, the goggles sit far out in front of your face. This creates a "lever" effect that puts a lot of pressure on your forehead. The counterweight acts as a balance scale. It moves the center of gravity to the middle of your head so the night vision feels weightless instead of heavy.

What helmets are compatible with this kit?

This Counterweight for Team Wendy Helmets is made to fit all professional Team Wendy helmets perfectly. This includes the EXFIL Ballistic, Ballistic SL, Carbon, LTP (Bump), and the SAR (Search and Rescue) models. It also works with the EPIC helmet line.

Can I use it with other brands of helmets?

Yes. While it is designed for Team Wendy, it uses a hook-and-loop (velcro) attachment. If your helmet has velcro on the back, you can stick this pouch to it. However, the extra security straps included in the box are specially shaped to fit Team Wendy rails.

Is the lead used in the system dangerous?

No. While the weights are made of lead to keep them small and heavy, they are "fully coated." This means the lead is sealed inside a protective layer so you never actually touch the metal. It is safe to handle during your mission.

How do I know which size to get?

You should choose based on how heavy your front gear is. The "Small" kit is for lighter setups (like single-tube goggles), while the "Large" kit is for heavy setups (like dual-tube goggles or cameras). If you aren't sure, the Large kit is the most popular because you can always remove weights if it feels too heavy.
